Job Title: Game Keeper

The Role

We are looking for an experienced gamekeeper to work on a private shoot on a private

family estate to replace a retiring gamekeeper. The Estate has been developed over generations for shooting

Candidates should be self-motivated, have excellent communication skills and be experienced.

Key Responsibilities

• Running all aspects of game management (duck, pheasant & partridge), release poults. To include feed, environment management and disease prevention

• Predator & pest control in line with best practice and legal requirements

• Habitat management & conservation work, especially with a focus on increasing the

wild game population

• Responsible for preparation and organising shoots as requested.

• Managing the shoot day and sale of produce

• Maintenance of equipment, vehicles, pens and estate infrastructure

• Supporting wider estate duties as required (harvest, woodland etc.)

• Monitoring and evaluating estate security

• Maintaining health and safety policies, and code of conduct.

The ideal candidate

• A passion for shooting and conservation

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team proactively.

• Good previous experience in gamekeeping, backed up by references

• Full driving licence

• Firearms and shotgun certificate

• Ability to work flexible hours
