Aberarder Estate, Inverness
Maintenance & Facilities Assistant
Aberarder is a forward-thinking Highland estate located around 30 minutes from Inverness, encompassing a mixture of low ground, woodland and high moorland. We are starting an exciting journey transitioning from conventional sporting objectives towards a more holistic, nature-focused way of working.
We currently have a vacancy for a Maintenance & Facilities Assistant. Reporting to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager, duties will include:
· Basic property maintenance and upkeep
· Production of woodchip for fuel
· Maintenance of tracks and footpaths
· Fencing repairs
· Basic maintenance of plant and machinery, including biomass boilers
· Some grass cutting and strimming
· Able to work as part of a small team or single-handed
· Possibility to be involved with some wider tasks, such as livestock handling and management, nature recovery projects and ecological surveying/recording
Experience in some or all of the above areas is desirable, but full training will be available where appropriate. This list is not exhaustive, and the role will encompass all of the tasks you might expect on a busy and varied estate run by a small but dedicated team.
This is a permanent, fulltime role and will involve some out-of-hours work.
We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, open to new ideas and willing to learn, with a passion for rural Scotland.
Competitive salary, accommodation and use of an Estate vehicle for the right candidate. Closing date: Friday June 24th.
Apply with CV and covering letter to office@aberarder.estate
