Penicuik Estate Hospitality Live-in, Resident Couple: Host / Housekeeper / Maintenance / Handyperson
Penicuik Estate, which extends to 3,100 hectares, is located 10 miles south of Edinburgh. Owned and managed by the Clerk family since 1654, the Estate operates as a diversified rural business focusing on farming, forestry, real estate and renewables. With one of the finest designed landscapes in the country and over 15 miles of trails, the Estate provides a major recreational resource for Midlothian, with over 150,000 visitors a year. Now, with a new generation taking over the family business, the Estate is embarking on an exciting fresh chapter to continue its evolution, with the launch of a major hospitality project during 2024.
Purpose / Overview: As a live-in, on site, resident couple with at least two of the skills required: personable caring hosts, meticulous housekeeping management and/or maintenance/handyman, you will both work with the Managing Director, taking and converting enquiries into reservations, setting up advance reservations in the systems for the properties, checking on the housekeeping staff that are directly and indirectly employed, identifying and reporting the maintenance issues. You will help maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout all the properties on the estate, with our own team members and our preferred contractors and suppliers. You will arrange for and check the final set up in advance of the arrival, help with the welcome process and ensure that our guests experience the warmest welcome on arrival and then enjoy a comfortable and pleasant stay on the estate until the time of their departure.
