House keeping couple or a single person. - Ref 1472 Date: March 25, 2025

Welsh/Shropshire border.

Brynkinalt is a traditional rural estate comprising a Grade 11* Listed House, holiday cottages, dairy farm and diversified estate.

We are now recruiting a house keeping couple or a single person to provide security and maintenance for the principle house, help with events and manage the holiday cottages.

The couple will work with our existing house keeping couple and take on responsibility for security, alarms, boilers and maintenance as the security person moves into retirement.

The couple will be expected to work together and with the existing couple to learn the roles. This will include holiday cottage turnarounds and gardens, laundry, cleaning and helping with overnight guests.

Longer hours during the winter months will be required to look after staying guests which will include some dinner and breakfast service.

Experience of the role necessary. The applicants must be able to take direction but also have strong initiative and an eye for detail.

You should be confident with all aspects of housekeeping and be able to clean and care for the home to a high standard. You should be highly organised.

Accommodation in a 3 bedroom cottage on site and company pension scheme are part of the package.

Required skills:

· Well organized and able to plan workload.

· Able to work individually and as part of a team.

· Ability to undertake a wide range of activities.

· Adaptable approach to work.

· Self-motivated, pro-active and flexible

· Excellent timekeeping and reliability

· Professional attitude

· Experience of care of historic furniture desired but not essential

· Full UK Driving Licence

· Languages - a good level of English is required.

ABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

Role will include

· Security when the family are away

· Full housekeeping duties to a high level

· Routine & Deep cleaning

· Working as a team alongside the other housekeepers

· Taking care of laundry and ironing.

· Organising items for dry cleaners

· Running errands

· Helping with estate events including set up, waitressing, laying & clearing tables & washing up

· Arrange repairs and housekeeping maintenance of property when required

· Liaise with other departments within the organisation, such as the maintenance and gardening teams and family to facilitate smooth running of house, events and holiday cottages.

· Health & safety in the workplace.

Some weekends, evenings and bank holidays will be required, but the position is generally is expected to equate to 50 hours per week between the couple. Full driving licence necessary. References essential.
