Location Oxford

Starting Salary £25k-35k per annum (dependant on experience and qualifications).

Job Type Permanent, Full-Time

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Candidates must have at least 2 years Private Estate experience
  • They must have a full, clean driving license and access to a car.
  • Pass a Company Advanced DBS check.
  • Good sickness and attendance record.
  • Punctual, positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • A team player, good time management and proactive approach.
  • Attention to detail and flexibility.
  • Tidy and organised.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Honest, reliable, and committed
  • Friendly, professional and approachable manner
  • Physical stamina to handle outdoor work in various weather conditions
  • A basic understanding of electronic devices such as phones and computers.
  • Experience of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc) - Spreadsheets and Computer Skills a bonus.
  • Understanding mechanical equipment and how to apply mechanical knowledge to operate machinery effectively.
  • Tractor, Digger and Spray qualifications (PA1/PA2) a bonus, otherwise training will be provided.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • A “can-do” positive attitude at work
  • Ability to carry out manual heavy labour tasks.
  • Ability to establish and develop working relationships.
  • Ability to maintain and develop personal performance.
  • Background knowledge of Estate maintenance is essential.
  • Basic Livestock handling and care required.

Primary duties would include but are not limited to:

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Lawn mowing, hedge cutting, strimming, leaf blowing, weeding, pruning shrubs, pruning trees.
  • Digging, edging lawns, planting and soft landscaping when instructed.
  • Weed control and lawn quality management.
  • Tidying and organising of working areas.
  • Tractor driving, trailer towing, paddock maintenance and fence repairs.
  • Livestock feeding and health checks.
  • Animal feeding, cleaning and health checks.
  • Monitoring lighting and irrigation systems.
  • Fixing property defects as required. Reporting back issues and problems found on site.
  • Vehicle cleaning and maintenance. Keeping your vehicle tidy and equipped with all the materials and equipment required to do your duties.
  • Maintain garden equipment including mowers, strimmers, chain saws.
  • Manage personal budget and expenses.
  • Handyman duties using basic power tools.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Driving and running errands as per business requirements.
  • Assisting and providing cover for Gamekeeper as and when necessary
