Gamekeeper - Ref 1400 Date: January 16, 2025

We are looking for a game keeper to
1)Assist in the running of a small commercial game farm specialising in the production of high quality grass reared partridge and pheasant.
2)Assist in maintaining and developing the Estate shoot-currently a limited mix of driven and walked -up days.

Your duties will include
. Deer and other pest and vermin control.
.Successful running of driven and rough shoot days including establishing a team of beaters and pickers up.
.Sharing responsibility with the owner for the setting up and operation of the rearing field each season.
.Maintainance of release pens,release of game and associated husbandry.
.Any other duties reasonably associated with maintainance and development of shooting interests on the Estate.
It would be preferable for the successful candidate to live on the Estate and the job is offered with
. A detached 3bed Farmhouse (recently refurbished) with garden,sheds and kennels.
. A competitive salary depending on experience.
. Potential for profit sharing in the future.
We are looking for
. Knowledge and experience in game keeping.
. Knowledge of game rearing although not essential for the right candidate.
.Practical hands on skills associated with the use of tools and machinery such as chain saw,sprayers,tractors,ATV,s and forklifts.Appropriate training could be provided.
. Posses a full driving licence and firearms certificate.
. Ability to work unsupervised and take the initiative.
. Demonstrate an enthusiasm and commitment to working in this sector and meeting the seasonal demands associated with it.
