FT Groundskeeper/Gardener

Beautiful Highland Estate in Lochaber seeking a pro-active Groundskeeper/Gardener to complete their small, dedicated team. This is a full-time position suitable for a discreet, motivated and enthusiastic person who is willing to adapt to the various aspects of the job. The candidate will work for two days a week in the garden working under the instruction of the head gardener and the other three days working alongside the estate manager fulfilling the grounds keeping role.

Job responsibilities include:

-Grass cutting and strimming

-Hedge maintenance and pruning

-Road maintenance

-Blowing leaves and debris

-Perform light excavation, using shovels picks and other hand tools

-Maintenance of machinery

-Spraying and pulling weeds

-Jet washing

-Repairing fences

-Invasive species management

-Gutter clearance

-Helping with tree felling

Required qualifications/skills:

-Ability to follow detailed instructions

-Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with supervisor and co-workers

-Physical strength and stamina

-Attention to detail

-Willingness to learn

-Self motivation and the ability to work well autonomously

Education/Experience requirements:

-Previous grounds keeping or farm experience advantageous

-Drivers licence needed

-Potential for professional development

Pay dependant on experience and appointment subject to probationary period.
