Mayen Estate is a small family-run estate, near Rothiemay in Banffshire and is home to Mr & Mrs A Cheyne and family. The grounds feature lawns, over 300 acres of woodland, an arboretum, a mile of riverbanks, ponds, fruit trees, landscaped gardens, roads and paths in the Deveron Valley
We are seeking an Estate Worker to work as part of our small and enthusiastic team to continue to develop and maintain the estate’s stunning grounds and gardens.
Duties include:
· Maintenance of lawns, woodland gardens, shrub beds, meadows, arboretum and hedging.
· Woodland planting, felling, pruning, and wood chipping/ log cutting.
· Maintenance of riverbanks of the Mayen House Beat.
· Maintenance of roads, paths, ditches, ponds and fencing.
· Working alongside other Estate Workers on exciting development projects,
· Maintenance of plant, equipment and tools
Desirable skills, experience and qualifications:
· Chainsaw cross cutting and tree felling and other power machinery certificates
· Chemical and spraying certificates
· An attention to detail, good housekeeping and timekeeping
· Maintenance of plant, equipment, and tools
A passion for nature and team working is essential.
Salary is competitive and based on experience
This is a live out role
40 hours per week
