ESTATE OVERSEER

Exciting opportunity for an Estate Overseer on a 1,000ha mixed use estate near Forfar, Angus. A family owned progressive agricultural, forestry and let property estate which has a principal house with private gardens, walled garden and policy woodlands. The successful applicant will work closely with the owner and factor but must also be capable of working unsupervised and as part of a wider team. Must also be an animal lover.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a wide ranging role which will involve

• Arranging and overseeing building and agricultural contractors
• Forestry maintenance, planting and basic felling work
• Maintenance of estate roads, drains, ditches and fences
• Maintenance and development of private and walled gardens and policy woodlands
• Keyholder for principal property, occasional out of hours assistance and family pet care
• Operation and basic maintenance of biomass district heating system

SKILLS:

• Chainsaw cross cutting, felling, strimming and other power machinery certificates

• Chemical and spraying certificates
• An attention to detail, good housekeeping and timekeeping
• General maintenance of plant, equipment, and tools
• Tractor driving, mini digger operation and trailer capability
• Knowledge of biomass system operation & maintenance
