Frederick Hiam Ltd is a diverse family-owned farming business, located close to the Suffolk/Norfolk border. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic part-time Assistant Gamekeeper to join our small Estates Team, to help deliver a semi wild bird shoot.

About the role of Assistant Gamekeeper

Working hours required: Usually 2 days per week

Holidays: 31 days holiday, including bank holidays (pro rata for part time employees)

Salary: Competitive market salary & company pension scheme

Location: Frederick Hiam Estate

General duties that are required but not limited to:

• Pest control, including daily checking of traps

• Game bird management/husbandry

• Habitat management

• Maintenance of machinery and equipment

What you’ll need to have:

• Full, clean UK driving licence

• Shotgun and firearm licence

• Experience of pest control with the knowledge and ability to keep up to date with the law and legislation on trapping and shooting

• Knowledge of game management/husbandry

• Time management skills

• The ability to work on your as well as part of a small team

• Good communication skills

• Good attention to detail

What you’ll ideally have:

• Certificate in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting

• Certificate in Sit in ATV/UTV

• Experience driving a Tractor

• Experience of habitat management for game birds as well as other general wildlife and endangered species
