This is a busy role where the individual needs to be totally flexible.  The role includes; Gamekeeping, security, alarm response, keyholder responsibilities, house maintenance, household assistance, driving duties, estate vehicle upkeep, estate machinery upkeep, gardening, swimming pool upkeep, responsibilities for a range of animals including dogs and horses. There will be some late nights and/or early mornings particularly over weekends or holidays when the wider family are at home or when there are guests staying. Christmas, Easter, some week/ends in the summer and shooting weekends can be particularly busy. It is important to note that there are also quieter times when the demands in the house are not so great.  Weekly hours will be circa 45 hours, (although complete flexibility is essential) with 2 days off a week, not always at weekends. Mulgrave is a large and diverse rural Estate located on the North Yorkshire Coast, in the North York Moors National Park. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role is part of a small multi trade team responsible for the cyclical, reactive and proactive maintenance for a range of property types across the Estate, including residential, agricultural and commercial buildings. You will also work closely with sub-contractors and main contractors over a wide range of projects, delivering high quality results on time and to budget. You will be highly motivated, organised and able to work as part of a team as well as on your own. You will be skilled, conscientious & friendly and be in good physical health, clean and hardworking. A clean driving licence is required. General Duties As an experienced multi-skilled General Builder, you will be undertaking a variety of work including groundworks, drainage, demolition, stripping out, metal stud, dry lining and plastering. Much of the work is in the refurbishing of residential property and experience of roofing, flooring and joinery installation (inc. doors & windows) & restoration is required. Stone Masonry skills and/or experience would also be an advantage. A good general knowledge of regulations applicable to construction work, including Health & Safety requirements is required.
